J.D. Frazier
Founder of dreamfactoryOS — built from twenty years spent leading people at scale, building and rebuilding a real business, and a system of identity work tested outside the room it started in.
J.D. Frazier is the founder of dreamfactoryOS and DreamFactory Family. Early in his career, he spent five years in a leadership role inside a 20,000-person organization, building a program that served thousands of members and hundreds of volunteer leaders, while helping launch new locations as it expanded. He learned what it takes to engage a large room, build volunteer leadership, and scale a culture without losing what made it work in the first place.
In 2005, he acquired a small industrial inspection company and, without outside equity, grew it 7x in revenue and 12x in profit over fourteen years — including rebuilding it from near-total loss after Hurricane Harvey destroyed over 95% of its fleet and equipment in 2017 — before successfully exiting the business in December 2019. The experience taught him the difference between a business that runs on assets and systems, and one that runs on the clarity and identity of the people, with the operating systems for execution built on that foundation.
After months of studying his training independently, J.D. reached out to Jamie Winship, developer of the Identity Exchange process, in the summer of 2019 and entered direct mentorship under him — while still running the inspection company. By September 2019, he had helped lead an Identity Exchange for 40+ leaders from different businesses and backgrounds, held on a large corporate campus in Austin. He has since facilitated that work with groups ranging from intimate settings to 50-plus participants.
dreamfactoryOS is the result of building a complete organizational operating system — from individual Identity Exchange through team culture, weekly focus to quarterly alignment, and annual strategic renewal — on that same foundation.
J.D. also currently serves as an embedded CEO at a multi-location business in Austin, TX, and holds a business degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
